Origins

The ARGE Korridor X line railways partnership was founded in 2001 based on a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of future-oriented cooperation of Central and South Eastern European railway companies. It was an Austrian civil law partnership (Ges. b. R.) headquartered in Vienna and comprised 10 members.

The decisions taken at the 2nd Pan-European Conference of Crete (March 1994) and the 3rd Pan-European Conference at Helsinki (June 1997) provided the basis for the foundation of the ARGE Korridor X.

The ARGE Korridor X expired on December 31st, 2008 and was replaced by the association Korridor X PLUS continuing the ARGE's activities.
